MSDSA - McConnell School of Dance Student's Association  

MSDSA is a non-profit corporation, established to assist all students with McConnell School of Dance. Membership is free to all students and dependant on yearly registration with McConnell School of Dance. 

MSDSA Mandate: To promote and preserve Celtic culture, dance, and to assist students and parents enrolled with McConnell School of Dance.

Membership: Students hold yearly membership with MSDSA upon registration with McConnell School of Dance.  Dancers under 18 years of age may have one parent/guardian representative and vote.

Nominations for 2018 – 2019 Board of Directors 

• Nominees must be members in good standing, over 18 years of age. All registered pupils are considered voting members. 
• In the case of dancers under 18, one parent or guardian may represent them.
• Board Positions – President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, plus 4 board members.

A nomination sheet has been posted at the studio.

CRN Minnesota Feile

CRN Minnesota Feile

The syllabus for the CRN Minnesota Feile on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 is now available.  Please see attached.

Dancers should confirm their participation by emailing info@mcconnelldancers.com before sending in their registration to Rince Nua. 

• Please confirm with us by Monday, October 15th.  Deadline for entries is October 17th
• Dancers / Parents register themselves for this feile.  Please see links below for registration.
• As per our Competitive Division policy, all dancers competing in CRN Feile's are required to pay a $75 Teacher Travel fee ($50 / family member) 

Event Location/Hotel is the Crown Plaza Minneapolis West in Plymouth, Minnesota. Room rate is $99 per night.

Adjudicator is Ms. Lena McGinley

Solo Entries can be completed and paid for (by parents) online here before or on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.

T-shirt Orders can be completed and paid for (by parents) online here before or on Wednesday, October 17th.

Teams - We will not be entering any teams for the Minnesota Feile

Competitive Division - Scrutineer Training

Dear Competitive Division Dancers & Parents,

CRN Ireland would like to update their list of scrutineers for the region.  If you have taken the scrutineers training course with Ann English at the Canada Feile in 2016 and would like to be included in the list of scrutineers for our school, please email info@mcconnelldancers.com and confirm the following;

MSDSA Costume Swap

MSDSA’S ANNUAL SHOE SWAP

 

MSDSA - McConnell School of Dance Student’s Association will be holding their annual Shoe Swap on Saturday October 20th from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the studio (32 Barberry Road)

 

A board member will be at the studio from Saturday Oct 13th - Thursday October 18th to collect items for sale at the start of each class.

 

• Please note, the Swap is for Irish Dance Shoes & McConnell Clothing & Attire (no costumes)  A costume Swap will be held later in the season, more details will follow.

 

Please fill out the attached form for items you will be selling.

Performance Division - No Classes Tuesday, October 9th, 2018

There will be no classes on Tuesday, October 9th 2018 as many of our dancers will be travelling home from Cincinnati and everyone will be in need of a day off after Regionals!

Performance Division classes will resume on Tuesday, October 16th, 2018.

There will be no Recreational classes on Saturday October 6th as our instructors will be in Cincinnati, OH with our competitive division dancers for the CRN North American Regional Irish Dance competitions.

Dancers who wish to make up the missed lesson may attend classes on Wednesday, October 10th

5:30 - 6:30 PM Beginner

5:30 - 7:00 PM Novice 

6:00 - 8:00 PM Preliminary

7:00 - 8:30 PM Intermediate & Advanced
